Cloudbrink, based in Sunnyvale, California, has introduced Firewall-as-a-Service (FWaaS) to enhance its zero-trust access solution, becoming the first vendor to offer granular security controls to the user edge for comprehensive endpoint device protection. The company addresses the limitations of traditional firewalls in safeguarding remote users and devices, emphasizing the necessity for protection at the user level, especially in a large work-from-anywhere workforce. Cloudbrink’s FWaaS allows administrators to set granular controls based on static and dynamic properties of end-users and their devices. The solution implements zero-trust access and moving target defense principles, using rotational mTLS 1.3 to refresh user certificates automatically. Scheduled releases include dynamic properties for device compliance and reporting capabilities for anomaly detection. Additionally, Cloudbrink announced IPsec connectivity for accessing data center applications, providing a migration path for customers not yet ready for data center changes. The FWaaS and IPsec functionalities are bundled with the Cloudbrink service from December 2023, offering high-performance connectivity with AI and ML for the modern hybrid workforce worldwide.
