Cisco Umbrella SIG and DNS support does not stop overnight. It winds down in stages, with the last date of support set for January 31, 2029. Cisco defines this as the final date to receive subscription entitlements, service and support for the product.

How Cisco Umbrella support winds down

  • • January 31, 2027: end of sale and end of software maintenance releases. After this, Cisco Engineering will no longer release product enhancements.
  • • January 31, 2027: end of new service attachment, the last date to order a new service contract.
  • • January 31, 2028: end of service contract renewal and the last date to renew or add to a subscription.
  • • January 31, 2029: last date of support.

If you use legacy Umbrella offers covered by Cisco’s June 2025 notice, those have different dates, with last software maintenance on September 30, 2026 and final support on September 30, 2030.

Why waiting is risky

Security tools need to keep pace with new threats and new ways of working. Once enhancements stop in 2027, your Umbrella deployment stays as it is while your users, apps and risks keep changing. Leaving migration until late 2028 also squeezes testing and rollout into a short window.

Move before support runs out

Cloudbrink Personal SASE gives hybrid workers zero trust access and Internet Security in one software-only service. With no appliances or VPN servers to deploy, you can start with a small group and expand at your own pace.
