Why doesn’t NordVPN work anymore?

Table of Contents

If NordVPN suddenly stops working, it does not necessarily mean the service itself no longer works. VPN connections depend on the device, local network, VPN protocol, account status and the server being used. A change to any of these can cause connection problems.

What can cause NordVPN connection problems?

NordVPN’s own troubleshooting guidance recommends checking that the account is active and the internet connection works without the VPN. Other troubleshooting steps can include trying another VPN server, restarting the application or device, changing the VPN protocol and testing another network. Some countries and networks also restrict VPN connectivity, which can affect whether a connection can be established.

Security software, DNS settings, network configuration and application updates can also affect VPN behaviour. The exact fix therefore depends on whether NordVPN itself cannot connect or whether a particular application stops working after the VPN connection is established.

What if VPN reliability is affecting remote employees?

For a home user, occasional troubleshooting may be manageable. For a business with a distributed workforce, repeated connectivity or performance issues can become an operational problem because IT teams need consistent access across many users, devices and locations.

This is a different use case from NordVPN’s primary consumer market. Cloudbrink is designed for enterprise remote and hybrid work, where secure access, performance and central administration need to operate across a workforce. It is not intended as a consumer NordVPN replacement, but as an enterprise platform for organisations whose remote-access requirements have outgrown a traditional personal VPN model.
